In the search for an opportunity to write a manifesto, and in the wake of significant cuts to funding for public broadcasting, I felt inspired to write a Brand Anthem for NPR. I cannot express how important public broadcasting is to me, to my family, my friends, my neighbors, and this country. This anthem is an expression of reverence, and of hope that our media landscape will always retain, somewhere, that ethos—of the people, for the people, and by the people.
